La o il mweqGail (mwegin sloveno mwewZiljacite-ref-1[1], in mwgaitaliano in passato mwgqZegliacite-ref-2[2]) è un mwhgfiume mwhwaustriaco. È il più grande mwiaaffluente di destra della mwiqDrava e scorre fra il mwigTirolo orientale e la mwiwCarinzia occidentale, in direzione ovest-est, lungo la valle omonima, la mwjaGailtal, che è parallela al confine con l'mwjqItalia.

Nasce sulle mwjwAlpi Carniche, sotto il mwkaTilliacher Joch nel mwkqTirolo orientale; a mwkgHermagor vi confluisce il mwkwGössering e ad mwlaArnoldstein la mwlqSlizza (mwlgGailitz); a sud est di mwlwVillaco la Gail confluisce nella mwmaDrava.

La portata media rilevata a Federaun, presso la confluenza nella Drava fra gli anni mwmg1951 e mwmw2004 è stata di 45,08mwna m³/s. Durante il periodo di piena annuale la portata è mediamente di 398mwnq m³/s; il massimo storico registrato fu di 850mwng m³/s, il 5 novembre mwnw1966.
